An update on my latest works-in-progress when notable Strides have been made.
This week has been surprisingly productive in terms of artistic output. I continued my work on that top secret project I mentioned last week, here is what I can share.
But perhaps more importantly, I finally got started on an idea for a painting I’ve been sitting on for a couple of weeks.

I spent almost $200 of my tax refund on what I needed just to get going, which is to say I’m working with limited brushes, paint, and a shoddy easel. Obviously this led me to think about how fucked up it is that people still shame artists for being impoverished “leeches on the system,” but expect us to keep producing for their enjoyment — for free! Like I’m supposed to magically make the resources I need appear anytime I want to create.
Sorry, I know this is a rant for another day.
I do want to note that I’ve still been grinding on my upcoming live online DJ show slated for April 27 (so soon!). By that, of course, I mean I’ve already scrapped the entire set list I had produced because I couldn’t help but change direction.
Ah, the life of a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder.
(But most days, I just go by “artist.”)
